Gain the knowledge and confidence to bake your own loaf of artisan sourdough bread. Join me for an in-depth tutorial on how to make and bake a basic sourdough loaf using a starter and dutch oven; along with a quick bread to make with the sourdough ‘discard’, wine, and conversation. Classes are small, max of six people in a casual and comfortable setting! We will address fitting a bread baking routine into your lifestyle and maintaining the sourdough starter.
Learn to make sourdough and discover all the health benefits of this bread. Find out how sourdough helps our digestion as well as why good flour is so essential. You will acquire the pure satisfaction, mindfulness, and joy of baking this amazing bread. We will talk through some of the techniques and terminology (general, this is for beginners!) so you can then bake and share nourishing bread every day, with the ones you love.
You will leave with:
A light lunch will be served (in between shaping and folding), and we will enjoy a glass of bubbles to celebrate our successful bread-baking day.
This class is for beginners, it is not for the seasoned sourdough baker. It will focus on caring for your starter, a simple sourdough formula, and step-by-step instructions on how to bake the bread.
